Born 6th February 1888. Was a Newspaper Manager living at 1, Valdeck Mansions, Oxford Street, London before the war.
Obtained his Royal Aero Club Aviators’ Certificate on the 1st March 1917.

Transferred from the Northumberland Fusiliers to the R.F.C. as an observer on 1st August 1918
Reported Missing In Action on the 2nd September 1918.
Reliquished his commision on the 14th February 1919 and left the squadron.

Transferred from the Highland Light Infantry to the R.F.C. as an observer on 1st August 1918.
Reported missing in action on the 1st October with his pilot Buckingham. They were both taken prisoner but Beck died from his wounds.
Beck is remembered on the Arras Flying Services Memorial

Born 1898 in Salisbury, Wiltshire. He initially joned the 2nd London Regiment before transfering into the Royal flying Corps.

Brunton played in the Squadron's rugby team.
Brunton was awarded the Military Cross while serving with the Gordon Highlanders
"For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in an attack. When troops in front of him were held up, he at once realised the situation, led his men forward and put out of action two machine guns and several snipers who were holding up the advance. He set a splendid example to his men."
Transferred to the R.F.C. as an observer on 1st August 1918

Born 12 October 1895 to Herbert Evelyn Harcourt-Vernon and Mary Adelaide Allan Arthur first joined the East Surry Regiment before joining the Royal Flying Corp In 1925 Arthur was working living 67 Douglas Drive, Toronto working as a Clerk when he married Alice Margaret Cayley. Arthur died in June 1971.

Born 6th June 1893 in New York City. Joined the R.F.C. in 1917, serving in 20 Squadron. In October 1918 he was made Flight Commander for 48 Squadron but neear the end of the month he was hospitalised for the rest of the war with an eye wound.
he was credited with 17 aerial victories.

Born on the 13th November 1897 in Aberdeen. Lived in Summerfield, Peterculter, Aberdeenshire.
Obtained his Royal Aero Club Aviators’ Certificate on the 27th June 1918.




Lt. James Bruce Jameson
Youndest Son of Major T.M. and Mrs Lena Jameson of Rye, later of "Moorstock," Sellindge, Kent.
Enlisted into 32nd Royal Fusiliers before joining the R.F.C.
Killed on the 24th August 1918 during the Air Raid on Bertangles Aerodrome, he was 25 years old. Buried in Villers Bretonneux Military Cemetery and remembered on the Rye War Memorial.

Born 12th November 1896 in Preston. Ontario, Canada but had British Nationality. Took his Royal Aero Club Aviator's Certificate on the 14th February 1918. There  is a chapter about Oaks in the book Flying Canucks: Famous Canadian Aviator. He was entered into Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame with the following citation.
"The professional daring of his aerial expeditions into uncharted regions led others of his reed to colonize the north and bring outstanding benefits to Canadian aviation."
Oaks died aged 72 in 1968.

Reported Missing in Action when he and his pilot 2/Lt McCulloch failed to return from a patrol on the 2nd Septembr 1918. Born on August 8th, 1898, he was the son of Sybella Amy Perry and the late Percy James Perry, of 22, Wellington Street, Woolwich, London. He was an active member of the Scout movement. Percy was a ‘Trade Lad’ with the Woolwich Arsenal entering the Woolwich Polytechnic at the age of 16, in 1914 and leaving in 1917 to join the forces. His record card shows that he a 100% attendance record, and that his work in the fields of Mathematics, Engineering Drawing and Inorganic Chemistry was consistently of a high standard, attaining 80-90% marks. It was reported in the Woolwich Polytechnic Magazine for December 1918 that: ‘Lieut. Lawrence Perry, RAF. Observer, fell in action, in France, on 2nd September 1918. His machine was seen to fall behind German lines, and for some time it was hoped that he might have been taken prisoner, but news has now been received by his parents that he was killed.’ (WPM Dec. 1918, p.17). Percy is remebered on the Arras Flying Services Memorial and the Woolwich Polytechnic Memorial Plaque.

Living at 48 Grosvenor Square S.W. in 1917 Took his Royal Aero Club Aviators' Certificate in a Grahame-White Biplane at the Grahame-White School, Hendon on the 8th December 1917. Rea qualified as a Flying Ace with 6 recorded victories and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
